Tyre pressure sensors (TPMS)

In the tyre pressure sensors category, Reifenshop Landshut offers original RDK and RDCI sensors for BMW and Mercedes-Benz. Tyre pressure sensors measure air pressure and temperature directly in the wheel and report the values to the vehicle’s tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS).

Since November 2014 a tyre pressure monitoring system has been mandatory for all new cars registered in the EU. Anyone who changes complete wheels or builds a second wheel set therefore needs sensors that match the vehicle.

✔ Tyre pressure sensors by make and series

• BMW F models
• BMW G models
• Mercedes-Benz

The part number of the sensor decides the fit, not only the car model.

🔧 What matters with tyre pressure sensors?

1. Part number

The part number shows which vehicles a sensor is intended for. Compare it with the data for your vehicle or with your current sensors.

2. Radio frequency and system

In Europe most sensors work at 433 MHz. The signal must also match the vehicle’s tyre pressure monitoring system – that is why sensors differ between manufacturers and model series.

3. Valve

Sensors come with metal or rubber valves. The valve must suit the wheel and be tightened to the specified torque when fitted.

4. Learning

Depending on the vehicle, new sensors are recognised automatically while driving or are taught in at a workshop with a diagnostic tool.

🛠 Fitting tip

Have tyre pressure sensors fitted by a specialist workshop and have the valve core and seals checked at every tyre change.
